On Aliens and the Parallel Universe

The gateway to time travel

Some years ago I self-published a book alleging that forty-two of the Nostradamus prophecies were authored by an alien. To support the alien claim, I provided a systematic decoding of those prophecies demonstrating that they revealed very detailed and accurate knowledge of contemporary events, including instances of precise dating as well as instances of referring to the human participants by name and of referring to then nonexistent places by name. I was expecting at least a modest amount of interest in my work from the general public but judging by book sales that were negligible, no one was impressed.

Now in the wisdom of old age I see the folly of my thinking. It really does not matter how convincing the fulfillment of a prophecy might be, people will simply write it off as some kind of trick or as an amazing coincidence under the universal belief (in rational circles) that it is impossible to know the future. Indeed, it would be a daunting task (for human and alien alike) to calculate all the cause-and-effect possibilities just one day in advance let alone going forward for hundreds of years. But this much is certain: It could be very foolish to rely on what people say is impossible. At one time it was impossible for humans to go airborne, and then it was impossible for our aircraft to break the speed of sound, and so forth.

The statistical odds against the fulfillment of those forty-two prophecies by pure coincidence are vast, so much so that it is no longer a question of whether the future was foreseen but rather on how it was foreseen. We can start by looking to the forty-two prophecies themselves for an explanation, and right away we notice an oddity. The first of the forty-two to appear in Nostradamus' book (the first to be written assuming logical order) is actually the last prophecy (“here ends my prophecy”). That prophecy is directly connected to one just below it, the refers to an event that occurred long before the ending. Overwhelmingly we find that the first line of four line prophecies concerns an event that follows (in our sense of time) the events of later lines. Everywhere in the prophecies everything is flowing backwards in time.

The prophecies may therefore be pointing to the existence of a universe running parallel to ours, identical to ours in every way except that there time runs backwards. In the parallel universe, causes follow their effects rather than precede them. Our universe moves forward from the beginning of time and the parallel universe moves backwards from the end of time. In our universe the galaxies are expounding outwards from the Big Bang but in the parallel universe the galaxies are collapsing inward toward the initial fireball. Likely, neither universe can exist without the other, and without the two together there would be no existence.

Now it is becoming rapidly apparent that there may be no need to calculate the interaction of all the atoms in the universe in order to know the future. The future already exists. For example, events of the year 3000 A.D. will occur nearly one thousand years from now but in the parallel universe those events have already occurred nearly one thousand years ago. In its simplest essence, therefore, the technique of writing prophecies that come true is merely a two step process: 1) enter the backward moving universe and record the main historical events of the past, and 2) return to the forward moving universe with your recorded history and simply change the tense of the verbs from the past tense to the future tense. Barring further incursions between the two universes, no person and no force can stop your prophecies from coming true. You cannot change what has already happened.

This still leaves unexplained how the alien managed to introduce his prophecies into the forward moving universe (and presumably they simultaneously appear in the parallel universe) without affecting the outcome of those prophecies. For sure, the prophecies were masked to minimize causal effects, but they were widely and publicly known. History (our future and maybe our past as well) may therefore be changeable after all, less we speculate on the possibility of a potentially infinite number of universes, each with forward and backward components.

Also left unexplained is why the alien would bother to write those prophecies in the first place (it may have been a formidable task even for super-civilization powers) and how the alien managed to access the time-reversed universe. Fortunately, the alien is not entirely silent on those issues and I may take them up in a future article tentatively called Aliens and the Speed of Light.
